The Reverend Ed Backhouse, Committee Member for PNGCP, and currently a curate with Derby Diocese was ordained priest on Sunday, 1st July at All Saints’ Church, Aston on Trent. The Right Reverend Roger Jupp, formerly Bishop of Popondota and Principle of Newton Theological College, took the service, with The Right Reverend Peter Ramsden, formerly Bishop of Port Moresby and now Chair of PNGCP, as preacher.

Ed studied theology independently at St John’s College, Nottingham and then after selection trained at Cranmer Hall, Durham, including two periods overseas in PNG, before his ordination as deacon last year.

PNGCP’s Chair, Management Committee and Supporters send their heartfelt congratulations to Ed on his ordinaton, wishing him the very best for the event. Ed will be attending the next PNGCP Supporters’ Day‍ in London on Saturday, 22nd September – we look forward to seeing him then and hearing about the service.
